JUN 2016 NeoCon 2016 Press Release

Chicago, June 13, 2016 —Thonet introduces Blog, a contemporary collection of lounge seating, stools, and tables. Designed by Alessio Pozzoli, the Blog Collection supports a less formal, customized environment for dynamic workplaces with a vibrant style.

The Blog Collection is ideal for open and community spaces where people can work or meet as a group. The modular seating accommodates different styles of shaped seats and backs, enabling it to morph from seating for a formal lobby to a smart choice for collaborative space. The tall-back version of Blog seating provides sight line obstruction, creating a private enclave to sit and think or work with a peer, without creating a heavy feel in the space.

Boasting angled legs and organic shaped seats and backs, the product lends itself to layering colors and textures as the seat, pillow, and back can be designed in different materials. Blog’s design hinges on simple forms with basic, irregular geometric shapes. A strong metal frame, whose tubular steel references turned wood, combined with a visual lightness, emphasizes the design.

“The Blog Collection seamlessly encompasses two distinct styles, bridging mid-century modern and 21st-century contemporary to create an entirely unique collection,” said Steve Cohen, corporate vice president of sales and marketing, CFGroup. “Blog provides designers with fresh seating and table solutions for offices, libraries, waiting rooms, and other places where people come together.”

Blog utilizes high-density foam to create a comfortable chair that maintains clean, crisp edges and corners. Metal frame seating comes with a range of fabrics or COM. Tables are available in a variety of laminates and seating frames are available in seven finishes.

For additional flexibility, benches and sofas can add a backrest with a padded, upholstered birch inner structure to serve as a backrest or a dividing panel. A footrest can be added to three-legged stools.
